Kefalonia was typical of Greek islands, with plenty of snorkelling opportunities in very clear sea. There were secluded coves and long sandy beaches, not too crowded. A friendly turtle visited the port of the capital Argostoli frequently, and there were octopus to be seen (and eaten!). The usual selection of bream and wrasse swam in abundance, and we also spotted clams and tubeworms. Three of our preferred snorkelling bays are pictured below. The jellyfish illustrated below was wonderful in motion, with a tiny fish nestling within its cauliflower-like body. We saw examples in Lassi and in Petani beach. Pictures all taken with Sony DCR-HC90.
